Products are sold loose by the cubic metre or in 70 litre bags.  They are sourced from sustainable forests and are 100% natural virgin material.  It is possible to provide a chain of custody for our material to ensure that we bring you the best quality product possible.  Unlike cheaper recycled material, there is no risk of contamination to the product.  All of our products are free from pests, disease and weeds and have not been treated with Methyl Bromide or any other additives. 

One cubic metre covers an area of approximately 13 square metres at 3 inches deep.  Prices are provided on application and will vary according to quantity.  Haulage is not included, but a delivery price can be obtained for loads ranging from 1 to 100 cubic metres.   

Our product range will cover a vast array of requirements, from general landscaping to energy production and animal bedding.  They are low maintenance, cost effective and incredibly versatile.

GARDEN MULCH

Mulch is available in four different grades, standard, oversize, medium and fine.  It is the product of whole tree chipping, predominantly pine, which is left to stand between 9 and 12 months to achieve a darker appearance.   During this period the product reaches temperatures in excess of 50 oC which ensures that it does not contain excess volatile substances. 

Mulch is a very versatile product and its main use is in landscaping to prevent weed re-growth and retain moisture through the summer months and reduce the damaging effects of frost throughout the winter months.  The minimum depth recommended is 75mm.  It is available in standard form or screened and consists of woodchips, bark and needle to give a good ground covering and attractive appearance.

A screened version of the material is available in Medium, Oversize or Fine.  Medium tends to be the most popular product for general flower beds and borders as it is a more uniform size.  Oversize is more popular with contractors when landscaping larger areas such as borders, business parks, car parks, banks and sloping ground.

The product is low maintenance, free draining and cost effective.  It will last in excess of three years and will require topping-up to maintain the products effectiveness when necessary.

We can provide mulch which has a higher acidity level ideally suited for rhododendrons and other high alkaline plants.

PLAY AREA CHIP
This product is screened to a particular particle size and tested to a British Standard.  It is used by holiday centres, parks, school, adventure playgrounds and under apparatus where there is danger from falling in excess of 1 metre.  It is clean, attractive in appearance and light brown in colour.

The product is low maintenance, free draining and cost effective.  It will last in excess of three years and would require topping up at intervals to maintain its effective critical fall height.  The minimum depth recommended is 150mm.

EQUESTRIAN CHIP
This product has a variety of different uses, racehorse gallops, exercise rings, ménages, indoor/outdoor paddocks, recovery and turning out yards.  The chip is a pale sandy colour in appearance and available in three different grades and can be screened to a particular size on request. 

The minimum depth recommended for this product is 150mm.

The product is low maintenance, free draining and cost effective and can be supplied in either hardwood or softwood.  It will last in excess of three years and would require topping up at intervals to maintain its recommended depth.

PATHWAY CHIP

This product covers a wide variety of uses, the most popular being golf courses, community and council paths and bridleways.  It can also be applied directly to wet surfaces and muddy areas to make the ideal walkway.  The chip is a pale sandy colour in appearance and available in three sizes depending upon terrain and type of ground structure.

The product is low maintenance, free draining and cost effective.  It will last in excess of three years and will then require topping-up to maintain the products effectiveness.

PEAT SUBSTITUTE – Growing Medium Ingredient

This product is a growing medium ingredient that has been used by commercial growers for the last ten years.  Made from material derived from 100% virgin forest material and consists of bark, needle and wood and is composted at 70oC for a period of 12 months.

The composted wood fibre is dark in appearance and acts as a peat substitute.  It is pest, disease and toxin free.  Can be used for trees, bedding plants, hanging baskets as a growing medium.  It also acts as an excellent potting compost or soil improver and is suitable for all beds and borders including ericaceous borders for rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and heathers. 

In addition, it can be used as a base for turf laying and has very good moisture retention and does not block, which can be a problem with newly laid turf.

WOOD SHAVINGS

Produced from our own plant on-site, to a very high quality from locally grown pine.  Made from logs which are 100% virgin material.  Particle size can be adjusted to individual requirements if required in bulk. 

Shavings can be provided dust free or with a small percentage of fines.

They can be supplied in ??kg bales or loose in bulk.

ENERGY CHIPS

Suffolk Woodchips are one of the leading manufacturers of wood based energy fuel in the UK.  The chips are produced from either whole trees or residue to a required moisture content and particle size specification required for burning.

We are presently producing material for co-firing down to 3mm and screened woodchips for domestic and commercial heating systems.

BIO-FILTER MATERIAL

This product is produced in 3 forms derived from root material.  Successfully used for the past 15 years over a wide variety of applications, but mainly in filter beds as an odour repellent.  It acts as a very cost effective method of odour control with the added benefit of the product being 100% natural and easy to handle.

There are also two grades of pine screened woodchip which are also suitable for this purpose.

Longevity of the product is dependant upon its use.

WOOD FIBRE

Our new bio-fuel plant can produce dried material from 3mm up to 10mm diameter and moistures as required for particular applications.  This material can also be used for animal bedding and is a cheaper alternative to shavings.The product can be dried down to a maximum of 8%.

This product is available in two grades, medium and oversize.  It is very versatile and mainly used for landscaping, which suppresses week re-growth and conserves soil moisture in the summer months and reduces the damaging effects of frost throughout the winter.  It is free draining, low maintenance and a cost effective way of visually enhancing a landscaped area.  The material will last in excess of 2 years.
